ake Note, the lone Illinois quartet entry in the 2014 International Senior Quartet Contest, earned a Fifth Place medal in the contest held in Long Beach, California as part of the annual BHS Midwinter convention, January 29 through February 2.
Take Note, comprised of new tenor, Rick Anthoney; lead, Ralph Brooks; Dick Kingdon, baritone and bass, Ed Chapman, performed in a strong senior field of 29 contestants comprised of quartets from every district in North America, including quartets from Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia and Sweden.
Take Note has been competing at midwinter contest since 2008 previously earning two 3rd place medals in 2009 and 2010.
