[T]he Illinois District Spring Convention returns to Peoria!
There are some changes this year: The 2013 spring convention features the Illinois District Small Chorus Championship, the Illinois District High School and Seniors Quartet championships, a new Barbershop Harmony Festival, and — of course — preliminary rounds for the International Quartet and College Quartet contests.
The contest will once again take place at Five Points Washington. Our headquarters hotel April 12-14, 2013 is the Stoney Creek Inn in East Peoria, overlooking the scenic Illinois River.
The festival is something new for the Illinois District: An a cappella festival open to quartets, choruses, VLQs (Very Large Quartets), combined choruses, mixed male/female ensembles — it’s limited only by your imagination! No judges, this one is just for fun. (Well, there will be an award for Most Entertaining.) The festival is not limited to members of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
